Jessica A. Wilcox, O.D.

Jessica Wilcox, O.D., joined Silverton Eyecare in October 2012. Dr. Wilcox graduated from Pacific University in 2000 with a B.S. in Biology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from Pacific University, College of Optometry in 2005. Dr. Wilcox participated in the Amigos Club while in optometry school. The Amigos Club is a student run organization that helps to provide vision screenings and eye glasses to the less fortunate. With the Amigos club, Dr. Wilcox had the privilege to travel to Moldova to provide eye examinations for those in need. She also helped organize The Eyeball, a fundraiser for the Amigos Club to help raise money for mission trips.

Dr. Wilcox had the opportunity to work with many different populations during her internships in optometry school. She travelled to Hickam Air Force Base and worked with military personnel and their families. While at Hickam she received a “coin” from a Master Sergeant for her excellent patient care. She then went to Kansas City, MO to work with a large ophthalmology clinic. While there, Dr. Wilcox got to train with specialists in retina, cornea, neurophthalmology and primary care. Dr. Wilcox completed her last internship in Oklahoma at a private practice, where she experienced providing eye care for a small town.

Since graduating, Dr. Wilcox has specialized in primary care optometry, where she provides routine vision exams, contact lens fittings and medical examinations. When not at work, Dr. Wilcox spends time with her husband and two children. She enjoys volunteering in her daughter’s classroom and chaperoning field trips for her son. She also enjoys running and has recently begun competing in 10K runs. As a native Oregonian, Dr. Wilcox loves the coast and enjoys outdoor activities with her family.
